Advanced AI Features for iPhone 16 Series to Arrive in Phases Until 2025
Apple‘s upcoming iPhone 16 series is set to showcase a range of artificial intelligence features, although not all will be available at launch. While some AI functionalities, including text writing assistance and summarization tools, are expected to debut in October, more advanced features like image generation may not arrive until late 2024 or early 2025.
The iPhone 16 will launch with iOS 18, but without full AI capabilities. By October, users can expect the release of iOS 18.1, which will include initial Apple Intelligence features such as:
- Clean-up: An AI tool for removing unwanted objects from photos.
- Writing Tools: Features like proofreading and summarizing in apps like Notes and Mail.
- Movie Memory: An AI-generated video creation tool.
- Smart Reply: Suggested responses in Messages and Mail.
- Notification Summary: A feature that consolidates multiple notifications for easier viewing.
- Webpage Summary: A Safari tool that summarizes webpage content.
- Redesigned Siri: Enhanced interface and natural language processing capabilities.
More advanced AI features, including Genmoji and the Image Playground app, are expected by December, while full ChatGPT integration and AI enhancements for Siri may arrive by early 2025. Only the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max will support these features, with the iPhone 16 series expected to offer even more advanced AI capabilities.
